Returning All Black lock Josh Lord<\/a> got more than he bargained for in Chicago on his international return, entering the game in just third minute.<\/p>\n

Captain Scott Barrett<\/a> suffered a laceration on his leg which required an early substitution, with Lord partnering 2025 rookie Fabian Holland<\/a> for the duration of the contest from the third minute.<\/p>\n

The pair of young locks held firm against the experience of Ireland\u2019s pack, disrupting their lineout multiple times. For his efforts, Dutchman Holland was named man-of-the-match after nine carries and eight tackles.<\/p>\n

Holland pulled in five takes while Lord finished with two takes as the All Blacks<\/a> completed at 75 per cent which wasn\u2019t spectacular, but it bettered Ireland\u2019s mark of 69 per cent as the pressure went both ways.\u00a0Ireland<\/a> also struggled from restarts, securing just 67 per cent of them.<\/p>\n

The All Blacks will assess the status of captain Scott Barrett over the coming days but Robertson said his leg cut is a \u201cdecent one\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got a laceration,\u201d Robertson said of his captain.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got to cut his leg, so we\u2019ll see how long that\u2019s going to take. But it\u2019s a decent one, a little sprig above his knee there.<\/p>\n

Having already lost Patrick Tuipulotu<\/a> before the tour, the All Blacks lock stocks are thin.<\/p>\n

Blues<\/a> lock Sam Darry<\/a> is the only other second rower in the squad, while All Blacks XV<\/a> locks Josh Beehre<\/a>, Caleb Delany<\/a> and Jamie Hannah<\/a> are in the UK.<\/p>\n

Naitoa Ah Koui and Isaia Walker-Leawere<\/a> were withdrawn from the All Blacks XV squad last week.<\/p>\n

The All Blacks play Scotland<\/a> at Murrayfield next weekend.<\/p>\n
