Dom Young will be fit enough to take on Australia in the third Test of the Ashes series, England boss Shaun Wane has confirmed.<\/p>\n

Young had to be helped from the action in the closing stages of the game on Saturday<\/a> at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the winger appearing to pick up an issue after a hefty collision with Reece Walsh in the air.<\/p>\n

The Newcastle Knights man looked to get himself on the end of a kick to the corner but Walsh took him out in the air, a challenge which was deemed to be worthy a yellow card and 10 minutes in the sin bin.<\/p>\n

Young carried on for a minute or two longer but as the final whistle loomed, he required help from one of England\u2019s coaching team to get around the perimeter of the pitch and down the tunnel.<\/p>\n

As such, there was concern for Young and his fitness after the game but Wane insists he\u2019ll be ready to take on the Aussies at Headingley next week as England strive aim to avoid being whitewashed by the Kangaroos.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s OK now, he\u2019s in the changing room now. It wasn\u2019t concussion, he\u2019s good to go,\u201d Wane said when asked about Young\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n

Young came close to scoring on a couple of occasions in Merseyside with the winger scuppered twice by Walsh in the first half. Walsh was actually penalised for a high tackle after successfully preventing the England man from squeezing home in the corner in the first of those instances.<\/p>\n

That was before the full-back got his body in the way to prevent Young from touching a bouncing ball down cleanly.<\/p>\n

He was the best winger England had on the day with Tom Johnstone struggling to make a positive impact on the game throughout the contest. Wane has Joe Burgess waiting in the wings for his first minutes of the series, though, with the Hull KR man likely to be given the chance to impress in West Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll be OK,\u201d Wane added. \u201cWe have a good squad and it will be 17 fully committed players next week.\u201d<\/p>\n
