{"id":240275,"date":"2025-11-02T22:00:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T22:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/240275\/"},"modified":"2025-11-02T22:00:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T22:00:10","slug":"oxford-patients-invited-to-join-nhs-research-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/240275\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxford patients invited to join NHS research scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  The Count Me In initiative will allow research teams to directly approach patients if a relevant study arises, rather than relying solely on clinicians to find participants.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The scheme, designed to make research more inclusive and efficient, will offer patients the choice to get involved, ask questions, or opt out at any time.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It is hoped that this will lead to faster recruitment for studies and more opportunities for patients to engage with research.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A spokesperson for the trust said: &#8220;Research is vital to improving patient care and treatments.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;At Oxford Health, it helps us understand conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and dementia, and develop better treatments.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;But research can\u2019t happen without people.
