{"id":240458,"date":"2025-11-03T01:06:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T01:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/240458\/"},"modified":"2025-11-03T01:06:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T01:06:12","slug":"next-consultation-on-ayrs-belleisle-golf-course-renovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/240458\/","title":{"rendered":"Next consultation on Ayr&#8217;s Belleisle Golf Course renovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Following feedback from the first engagement last year, the council has been working with Pangaea Golf Architecture and Alliance Leisure to refine and update the proposals.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Belleisle Golf Course, a James Braid classic since 1927, holds a special place in golfing history.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The council said: &#8220;The updated concepts aim to respect and enhance Braid\u2019s original vision while introducing sustainable, future-focused improvements that will benefit players and the wider community.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;Three exciting options have been developed for the course\u2019s future, shaped by customer input and designed to deliver a high-quality golfing experience for generations to come.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Last year, hundreds of people backed a petition objecting to the redevelopment, with organisers stating that they were &#8216;vehemently&#8217; against the plan.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The petition claimed that the proposals would &#8220;destroy&#8221; the course, and that most members of the clubs playing at Belleisle are against the plans.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The council is now looking for feedback on the new designs, and will be available to view and comment on from Wednesday, November 5 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.belleisle-park-development.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">belleisle-park-development.co.uk.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Designs will also be available to view in person anytime at Belleisle Park Clubhouse from Wednesday, November 5 until Thursday, December 4.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Councillor Chris Cullen, policy lead for leisure and community services, said: &#8220;We&#8217;re committed to protecting, enhancing, and growing golf in South Ayrshire.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;The new design options explore how to create a modern, inclusive, and sustainable facility for generations to come.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;I encourage everyone with an interest in golf and Belleisle, to view the fantastic plans for Belleisle and share your feedback, whether positive or negative, as part of the consultation.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;It&#8217;s vital we hear a balanced range of opinions.
