A Welsh primary school has been closed by police due to threatening messages being made online. The decision has been made to close Dafen CP School<\/a> in Llanelli<\/a> on Monday, November 3.<\/p>\n Dyfed-Powys Police received information in the early hours of the morning “that required safeguarding action to be taken”, a statement from the force said. Working with Carmarthenshire<\/a> County Council, the decision was taken to close the school. There is a police presence at the school and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n Officers will remain at the school while enquiries are carried out, police said. Stay informed on Carms news by signing up to our newsletter here<\/a><\/p>\n No other schools in the local area are affected by the incident.<\/p>\n A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We understand there will be concern among parents and school staff following the message that was issued earlier this morning.”<\/p>\n They added that “necessary and appropriate safeguarding measures” have been taken to ensure everyone is safe.<\/p>\n A statement from the force said: “Due to threatening messages being made online, Dafen CP School in Llanelli will be closed today.<\/p>\n “Dyfed-Powys Police received information at around 2.30am that required safeguarding action to be taken.
