\n\tLionsgate<\/a> has struck a major deal covering both the \u201cRambo<\/a>\u201d and \u201cThe Expendables<\/a>\u201d action franchises with Millennium Media. <\/p>\n

\n\tUnder the terms, the studio has acquire the rights to develop and produce \u201call derivative works, including future film and television productions,\u201d of \u201cThe Expendables\u201d franchise, as well as worldwide distribution rights to \u201cJohn Rambo,\u201d the upcoming sixth installment of the Rambo film series.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe agreement also makes Lionsgate lead studio and production partner with Millennium on all future \u201cRambo\u201d television projects moving forward and includes the opportunity for the studio to participate in future \u201cRambo\u201d films. In addition, Lionsgate now holds the rights to develop derivative works based on \u201cThe Expendables,\u201d including \u201cfilms and television series, video games, immersive experiences and other cross-platform extensions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLionsgate has also confirmed reports from earlier this year that Noah Centineo<\/a> is in final negotiations to play the iconic role in \u201cJohn Rambo,\u201d which \u201cSisu\u201d filmmaker Jalmari Helander is set to direct. Production is slated to begin next year in Thailand and Lionsgate will launch sales for the film at the upcoming AFM.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cJohn Rambo\u201d will be produced by Millennium Media and Templeton Media, from a screenplay by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani (\u201cThe Mauritanian,\u201d \u201cBlack Adam\u201d). Kevin King Templeton, Les Weldon and Jonathan Yunger will produce. Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk of Bonfire Legend executive produce.<\/p>\n

\n\tLionsgate already distributes all existing \u201cThe Expendables\u201d films alongside \u201cRambo (IV)\u201d and \u201cRambo: Last Blood\u201d in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. It also distributes \u201cFirst Blood\u201d and \u201cRambo: First Blood Part II\u201d and \u201cRambo III\u201d across Latin America and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n
