Labour<\/a> has slipped into third place in a new poll in a fresh blow to Sir Keir Starmer<\/a>. The survey by More in Common puts Labour on 18%, down three points from the week before.<\/p>\n

Nigel Farage<\/a>‘s Reform UK is in the lead with 31%, down two points, while the Tories<\/a> are second on 19%, up one. The Lib Dems are fourth on 13%, up one, while the Greens are also up one on 12%.<\/p>\n

It is the lowest score the pollster has recorded for Sir Keir’s party since the general election in July last year.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, it is the highest score the company has put the left-wing Greens.<\/p>\n

It comes ahead of Chancellor Rachel Reeves<\/a>‘s Budget later this month which could further damage Labour’s popularity.<\/p>\n

Ms Reeves laid the groundwork for more tax hikes in a Downing Street speech yesterday just three weeks out from the major fiscal statement.<\/p>\n

She refused to stand by Labour’s manifesto pledge not to increase income tax, national insurance or VAT.<\/p>\n

But senior figures within the Government are reportedly unhappy with the Chancellor’s plans.<\/p>\n

A minister told The Times: “Breaking the manifesto will mean we lose some voters forever.”<\/p>\n

The Conservatives<\/a> have called on Ms Reeves to stand down if she goes ahead with tax rises.<\/p>\n
