Dermot Desmond has a big call to make sooner rather than later. <\/p>\n

Celtic<\/a> fans don\u2019t hear much from Desmond, but they certainly heard from him when Brendan Rodgers left the club last Monday. <\/p>\n

To many people\u2019s surprise, Desmond<\/a> opted to hand the Celtic keys to Martin O\u2019Neill<\/a> and Shaun Maloney until further notice. <\/p>\n

But who will be Celtic\u2019s next manager?<\/a> Because Jamie O\u2019Hara<\/a> thinks the answer for Desmond is much closer to home. <\/p>\n

Jock Stein is Celtic\u2019s greatest-ever manager<\/a>, but it could be argued that, in modern times, nobody betters O\u2019Neill for what he did after the turn of the century.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Sky Sports News<\/a> (05\/11\/25), O\u2019Hara labelled O\u2019Neill as \u2018iconic\u2019, and said how amazing it was seeing him on the touchline again.<\/p>\n

But given the start the Irishman has made in his second spell, O\u2019Hara thinks he is the ideal candidate to get the full-time job. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt probably makes it (the board\u2019s decision on a new manager) harder (if O\u2019Neill continues doing well),\u201d said O\u2019Hara. <\/p>\n

\u201cThen the debate will be. Do we keep Martin O\u2019Neill? I love seeing Martin O\u2019Neill in the dugout again. He\u2019s a breath of fresh air. Seeing him on the football pitch. He\u2019s iconic. <\/p>\n

\u201cHis credentials as a manager are amazing. He has been an amazing football manager. He\u2019s still healthy. He is still fit. He\u2019s out on the pitch, and he has got his tracksuit on. <\/p>\n

\u201cPeople say he\u2019s 73. Why can\u2019t he manage Celtic? He has a young guy beside him in Shaun Maloney, who knows his stuff and is a good coach. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf you are looking at certain managers who are going to take over that job, and it is a big job. No one has the credentials Martin O\u2019Neill has. I think, if he keeps winning and he keeps doing well. Keeps progressing the side. Why would you not appoint him?\u201d<\/p>\n

Celtic shouldn\u2019t even think about \u2018another manager\u2019<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s be honest, before Rodgers left, it was doom and gloom at Celtic<\/a>. That was proven by the defeats at Dundee and Hearts.<\/p>\n

But O\u2019Neill has brought a new lease of life<\/a> to proceedings, and O\u2019Hara thinks that the powers that be at Celtic shouldn\u2019t even be thinking about bringing anyone else in. <\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t even be thinking about another manager,\u201d added O\u2019Hara. \u201cRight now, genuinely, I wouldn\u2019t even be thinking about a new manager. I wouldn\u2019t be thinking about getting a manager in. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think they have got it right. Martin O\u2019Neill. Shaun Maloney. Take us through the end of the season. Rangers are miles off it. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are probably going to go out of Europe, and we have to try and catch Hearts at the top of the table. I think with Martin O\u2019Neill, they could do that.
