Like father, like son \u2014 Charlie Woods<\/a> has officially matched one of Tiger Woods<\/a>‘ earliest golf milestones.<\/p>\n

Charlie, 16, has been named a first-team All-American by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), mirroring the honour his dad received during the early 90s.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Charlie was among 12 boys the AJGA named to the first team of its annual list.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Miles Russell, the 17-year-old who was an alternate at the Walker Cup this summer, was selected Player of the Year for a second time in a row – matching the feat of 15-time major champion Woods in 1991 and 1992.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 2025 first-team All-American lineup by the AJGA was determined exclusively through the Rolex AJGA Rankings as of 14 October.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Charlie is ranked ninth at the moment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Being named a first-team All-American by the AJGA marks the latest achievement in a phenomenal season for the Benjamin School junior \u2014 and it comes just 48 hours after leading his team to the Region 1-4A Championship<\/a> at The Park West Palm.<\/p>\n

Charlie fired a 1-over 72, capped with a clutch 20-foot birdie on the 18th, to steer The Benjamin Bucs four shots clear of defending champions Oxbridge Academy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The win sends Benjamin to the Florida Class 1A State Championship as regional champions \u2014 and as the top-ranked high school team in Florida, according to the FHSAA iWanamaker rankings.<\/p>\n

It also marks their second straight title after last week\u2019s District 13-1A triumph at the Champions Club at Summerfield \u2014 a dominant run that\u2019s quickly turning heads across Florida high school golf.<\/p>\n

Charlie’s latest AJGA honour caps a breakout season that\u2019s seen him emerge as one of the most exciting juniors in the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He claimed his first AJGA title at the Team TaylorMade Invitational <\/a>in May and produced one of the shots of the season with a stunning hole-in-one<\/a> at TPC Sawgrass’ iconic 17th during the Junior Players Championship in September.<\/p>\n

That marked Charlie’s second ace in the space of nine months as he made one alongside his father at the PNC Championship in December 2024 – the last time we saw Woods in competitive action.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Woods is currently sidelined as he recovers from the seventh back surgery<\/a> of his career.<\/p>\n

There is unfortunately no timeframe on his return to the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Next year Woods will have the opportunity to tee it up on the PGA Tour Champions as he turns 50 years old at the end of next month.<\/p>\n

Charlie Woods has been a driving force behind Benjamin\u2019s unbeaten fall, leading the team to multiple tournament wins, including the South Florida PGA Junior Golf West Coast High School Championship at The Club at TwinEagles in Naples.<\/p>\n

Ranked inside the top 10 in the AJGA standings, though still outside the top 900 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), Charlie is proving he\u2019s more than just Tiger\u2019s son \u2014 he\u2019s the real deal in his own right.<\/p>\n

Next up: the Florida Class 1A State Championship at Mission Resort + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills (14\u201315 November), where Woods and the Bucs will look to finish their incredible season in style.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s got Tiger\u2019s genes, the game to match \u2014 and now, the same AJGA accolade to prove it.<\/p>\n
