John Fury<\/a> has always been close to his son Tyson Fury<\/a> throughout his boxing career, and now he has commented on whether or not \u2018The Gypsy King\u2019 should retire.<\/p>\n

Fury has not fought since December 2024, announcing his retirement just weeks after his second consecutive loss to Usyk<\/a>. That left him without any belts after a career that saw him win multiple world championships and reign for years as the WBC boss.<\/p>\n

The first fight with Usyk saw him given a count and lose a split decision, but the rematch was slightly more conclusive, with Usyk being given a unanimous decision on the cards.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Boxing King Media<\/a>, \u2018Big John\u2019 seemed unsure whether or not Fury would fight again but said he would rather see him stay retired.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah listen, Tyson\u2019s done his bit hasn\u2019t he. But with Tyson, it doesn\u2019t sit well because there is an argument on both his fights with Usyk. Usyk wasn\u2019t a clear-cut winner. It could have went either way.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs there room for a third fight with Usyk? Course there is, but I\u2019d rather have Tyson where he is at, retired. Tyson, today he is retired, tomorrow he isn\u2019t. You can\u2019t write a good man off, can you?<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what he\u2019s going to do. I wouldn\u2019t say he was over, and I wouldn\u2019t say he\u2019s gonna fight. For the minute he is happy doing what he\u2019s doing, let\u2019s put it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n
