Over the weekend, the UFC found itself ensconced in a potentially major scandal when suspicious betting patterns arose regarding the Isaac Dulgarian-Yadier Del Valle fight at UFC Vegas 110. Dulgarian was a sizable betting favorite, but odds shifted significantly shortly before the bout. After a questionable performance from Dulgarian, allegations of fight-fixing started to fly. The suspicious nature of everything led the UFC to quickly reach out to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which is reportedly looking into a potentially widespread issue of fight-fixing.<\/p>\n
A longtime rival of UFC CEO Dana White, Oscar de la Hoya could not be happier with the potential scandal.<\/p>\n
\u201cNews came out this week that I cannot ignore, and one of my enemies is in boiling hot shit,\u201d De la Hoya said on his Instagram<\/a>. \u201cI mean that stinky, smelly, hot lava, cow dung fire, out-of-my-ass type of shit. You know what I\u2019m talking about.<\/p>\n \u201cMy friend Dana White and the UFC are being investigated by the FBI for allegedly fixing over 100 fights, with the latest one over the weekend that was incredibly suspicious. I mean, wow! Was anybody really surprised? No!\u201d<\/p>\n De la Hoya has a few things wrong because at this time, the UFC does not appear to be under investigation, but is assisting with an FBI investigation. UFC CEO Dana White also has a personal connection to FBI director Kash Patel, and in light of this scandal, has said he and the UFC will \u201cdo everything we can to make sure you go to prison\u201d<\/a> if you are involved in fight-fixing of any kind. White has also denied that the investigation spans hundreds of fights, calling that claims \u201ctotal usual clickbait bullshit.\u201d<\/p>\n But none of that stopped de la Hoya from going in on White and TKO, using this scandal to pivot to criticism of the promotions\u2019 support for the Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act<\/a>, which seeks to amend the current laws to make boxing promotion more akin to the UFC business model.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been trying to tell you guys, these TKO guys are scumbags!\u201d de la Hoya said. \u201cAnd now they\u2019re trying to change the Muhammad Ali Act to f*ck boxers over. Get the f*ck out of our sport. Everything you touch turns to absolute shit. And now you have the FBI crawling up your ass? Good f*cking luck.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, look, is there any young boxer that\u2019s crazy enough to f*ck their career by signing with your shit league? They want their own rules, their own belt, their own ring, their own sanction to do exactly what they\u2019ve done with the UFC, which landed them a $400 million suit from former fighters, and now a federal investigation into illegal activity. We\u2019ll see how that pans out. Dana\u2019s shirt is definitely stressed at this point, and he\u2019s having a terrible week. But guess what? I\u2019m having a great week.\u201d<\/p>\n
