{"id":251550,"date":"2025-11-08T16:24:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-08T16:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/251550\/"},"modified":"2025-11-08T16:24:09","modified_gmt":"2025-11-08T16:24:09","slug":"deontay-wilder-called-out-for-huge-fight-by-former-heavyweight-champion-ill-make-history","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/251550\/","title":{"rendered":"Deontay Wilder Called Out For Huge Fight By Former Heavyweight Champion: &#8220;I&#8217;ll Make History&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former WBC world heavyweight champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/topic\/deontay-wilder\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deontay Wilder<\/a> has been called out for a long-awaited showdown with one rival in particular.<\/p>\n<p>The 40-year-old from Alabama made his return to action on June 27 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/boxing\/story\/_\/id\/45601020\/deontay-wilder-stops-tyrrell-herndon-return-ring\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">when he stopped countryman Tyrrell Herndon<\/a> in the seventh round of their non-title bout at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas.<\/p>\n<p>Wilder had been on a disappointing run of form prior to his clash with Herndon, suffering back-to-back defeats to former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker and the hard-hitting Zhilei \u2018Big Bang\u2019 Zhang.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/news\/wilder-says-hes-signed-for-january-fight\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">As he gears up to make his 50th ring appearance<\/a>, \u2018The Bronze Bomber\u2019 has been called out for a domestic battle with former unified world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.covers.com\/boxing\/andy-ruiz-jr-on-oleksandr-usyk-francis-ngannou-jake-paul\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">In a recent interview with Covers<\/a>, Ruiz was asked to reel off some fighters that he would be interested in facing in the future, as he reveals he would be open to a bout with Wilder after years of speculation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Oleksandr] Usyk, Tyson Fury, [Anthony] Joshua, and [Deontay] Wilder for sure \u2013 four of them.
