{"id":254203,"date":"2025-11-10T03:21:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T03:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/254203\/"},"modified":"2025-11-10T03:21:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T03:21:10","slug":"amateur-golfer-pulls-off-staggering-1-95-trillion-to-one-feat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/254203\/","title":{"rendered":"Amateur golfer pulls off staggering 1.95 trillion-to-one feat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An amateur golfer has made three aces in a month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lyn Parry, 74, achieved the 1.95 trillion to one feat in October at Tiverton Golf Club.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She embraced the sport at 58 and astonishingly scored two aces before pulling off this remarkable achievement<\/p>\n<p>Both of those aces came on the 11th and 13th holes at Downs Crediton Golf Club in Hookway, Devon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The holes-in-one have just come along a bit like buses, but for me it&#8217;s just about having fun,&#8221; she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You&#8217;re never too old. The beauty of golf is that it&#8217;s for all ages. My only regret is that I didn&#8217;t play when I was younger, as I might have been even better.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For amateur golfers, the odds of recording a hole-in-one are approximately 12,500\/1.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The odds drop to about 2,500\/1 for professional golfers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandgolf.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">England Golf<\/a> say Parry&#8217;s achievement were estimated at 1.95 trillion to one.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>James Crampton, England Golf&#8217;s championships director, said: &#8220;The odds are staggering and Lyn&#8217;s achievement is astounding. Some people go their whole lives without getting a hole-in-one, let alone three in a month.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>The feat is not the only thing Mrs Parry has to shout about.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She has improved her handicap index by seven strokes to 19.4 this year.<\/p>\n<p>She added: &#8220;Golf&#8217;s always appealed to me. My late husband used to play and was a good golfer and I used to get fed up of listening to golf talk all the time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, I thought I&#8217;ve got to get into this and see what it&#8217;s like. It&#8217;s a great social game and you learn a lot of self-discipline really, as it&#8217;s you against the course, and the course usually wins.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve made plenty of friendships through golf and I think my message to women and girls is it&#8217;s not just for the lads.
