New information pertaining to the release date of Valve’s upcoming VR headset has leaked online. It appears that the Steam Frame, as the headset is known, will be here this month. Previous leaks have revealed that Steam Frame, or Valve Deckard, will work wirelessly and won’t require a wired PC connection.<\/p>\n

It is an open secret at this point that Valve is preparing a new PC VR headset. Internally referred to as \u201cDeckard\u201d, the VR headset is reportedly titled \u201cSteam Frame\u201d. It is allegedly a standalone VR headset, akin to the Meta Quest 3, that connects wirelessly to a PC and doesn\u2019t need to be tethered with a wire. Previous reports have alleged that Valve is targeting a major launch with an estimated 6-figure annual production<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It has now come to light that we might be on the precipice of the official launch. According to information revealed by SadlyItsBradley on their Discord (via r\/GamingLeaksAndRumors<\/a>), Valve could announce the Steam Frame VR headset on Wednesday, November 12th. The information seems to have come from a \u201cfew sources, across a few weeks\u201d. The leaker further explains that Valve might take one or two weeks to get the messaging right around the Steam Frame PC VR headset<\/a> before opening pre-orders.<\/p>\n

While we have no way of confirming the actual release date of the Valve Steam Frame, a Holiday 2025 launch seems like an obvious choice for Valve\u2019s next gaming console<\/a>. The Holiday season has traditionally been the preferred launch slot for gaming consoles, as it ensures strong demand. We have also gotten our first look at a new, yet-unconfirmed Steam controller. So, things seem to be falling in place for a new Valve VR console.<\/p>\n

That said, we\u2019d advise taking the information with a giant grain of salt, as we previously heard<\/a> a similar rumor in mid-September about an imminent Wednesday launch. That obviously didn\u2019t pan out. So, another rumor pointing towards a Wednesday announcement raises our eyebrows.<\/p>\n
