DC Comics character Catwoman had her own feature, albeit a widely panned one, in 2004 with Halle Berry and Sharon Stone.<\/p>\n

Outside of that though, the character has had a long life from the 1960s \u201cBatman\u201d series to various animated incarnations, to Michelle Pfeiffer\u2019s unforgettable turn in 1992\u2019s \u201cBatman Returns,\u201d Anne Hathaway\u2019s version in 2012\u2019s \u201cThe Dark Knight Rises\u201d and Zoe Kravitz\u2019s take in 2022\u2019s \u201cThe Batman\u201d.<\/p>\n

Turns out though a failed Catwoman prequel standalone project for HBO Max is what led to the upcoming animated \u201cDynamic Duo\u201d film being produced by Swaybox Studios.<\/p>\n

That film is focused on two versions of Robin, Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, with the studio\u2019s signature style of blending puppetry, CGI and live-action elements. The reveal of a scrapped \u201cCatwoman\u201d film was made all the way back in January but wasn\u2019t really picked up at the time.<\/p>\n

Then, this week, outlet DC Film News<\/a> indicated some pictures featured on Swaybox Studio\u2019s website that were thought to have been behind-the-scenes pics from \u201cDynamic Duo\u201d could actually belong to the canceled \u201cCatwoman\u201d movie.<\/p>\n

They posted a portion from a now removed interview at Biz New Orleans<\/a> in which Swaybox\u2019s Arthur Mitnz said: \u201cWe were greenlit to make a project for HBO Max, a feature film based on Catwoman as a kid\u201d but, three months into development, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav cancelled a swath of streaming projects: \u201cHe canceled 42 projects, including ours\u201d.<\/p>\n

Matt Reeves, director of \u201cThe Batman,\u201d saw the footage from the \u201cCatwoman\u201d film that had been done so far and liked it so much he decided to put a sizzle reel of Swaybox\u2019s work and showed it to Zaslav.<\/p>\n

Zaslav was reportedly impressed enough to dub it \u201cincredible,\u201d and reportedly told the company to proceed but with a caveat: the project needed to tell a \u201clarger story.\u201d That led to the Dick Grayson and Jason Todd project which will \u201cdepict how the friendship between Grayson and Todd as youths becomes tested by their diverging ideas for what their future should be.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cDynamic Duo\u201d film is now in production but isn\u2019t expected to debut for a few years.<\/p>\n
