Police have launched a murder investigation after a young man was stabbed to death in broad daylight.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old was fatally attacked at around 12.50pm today (Monday, November 10) and emergency services have been at the scene in St Ann’s<\/a> since.<\/p>\n

Paramedics tried to save the victim but he died shortly after they arrived. The force did not say if any arrests had been made.<\/p>\n

Chief Superintendent Nick Waldram appealed for witnesses and said a team of detectives are working “tirelessly” to find those responsible.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cOur thoughts remain with the man\u2019s family during this incredibly difficult time. They are being supported by specially trained officers.<\/p>\n

\u201cDetectives are already working to understand exactly what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything which could assist our inquiries.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter how insignificant you think your information may be, we want to hear from you.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople in the area will understandably be concerned, but we currently believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know the impact this incident will have on the local community and therefore will be increasing patrols to provide reassurance while inquiries continue.\u201d<\/p>\n
