Trailing 23-5 after a first-half Wallabies onslaught powered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/rob-valetini\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rob Valetini<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/will-skelton\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Will Skelton<\/a>, Andy Farrell\u2019s side clawed their way back through tries from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/dan-sheehan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dan Sheehan<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/tom-curry\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tom Curry<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/huw-jones\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Huw Jones<\/a> and Tadhg Beirne. Keenan\u2019s late score survived a nervy TMO check for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/jac-morgan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jac Morgan<\/a> clearout.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the Lions\u2019 first series win since 2013, with a 3-0 whitewash now within reach.<\/p>\n<p>While Farrell\u2019s side celebrated a 2-0 series win in Melbourne, Springboks fans flooded social media with a blunt message: this Lions team wouldn\u2019t stand a chance against South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the comeback win for the British and Irish Lions, the sentiment among some South African rugby fans is less than impressed. Indeed, many Saffa fans are reminding anyone who\u2019ll listen that the Boks have beaten the Lions in their last two series \u2013 in 2021 and 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Cherry-picking the years, one Springbok fan account wrote: \u201cSouthern Hemisphere teams to win a test series vs the British and Irish Lions since the start of 2006: 1. 2009 Springboks 2. 2021 Springboks. We are the benchmark of Southern Hemisphere rugby\u201d, while another directed a similar observation at RugbyPass writer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/players\/ben-smith\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ben Smith<\/a>, penning: \u201cA gentle reminder that the only team that has won a Lions series in the last 20 years is the Springboks. Twice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Others were more blunt.<\/p>\n<p>One account posted: \u201cThe Springboks would smoke this Lions team\u201d, while another wrote: \u201cThis British and Irish Lions team can be glad they had to play Australia.
