Everton<\/a> have reportedly made a surprise offer worth \u20ac36m (\u00a331.5m) plus add-ons to sign Chelsea<\/a> and Liverpool transfer target Malick Fofana.<\/p>\n The Toffees could reach an agreement with French club Lyon \u2018fairly quickly\u2019 in a stunning transfer twist, French outlet L\u2019Equipe<\/a> reported on Saturday.<\/p>\n Everton and Lyon are currently in club-to-club talks while David Moyes<\/a>\u2019 side are also discussing personal terms with Fofana ahead of a possible move.<\/p>\n Liverpool and Chelsea were both linked with a deal for the 20-year-old winger<\/a> earlier in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Fulham had also expressed an interest in Fofana while Bayern Munich, Napoli and RB Leipzig were keen on him too.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet personalised updates on Chelsea every day\t\t\t<\/p>\n Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro\u2019s Football Newsletter. <\/p>\n Sign up to our newsletter<\/a> and then select your team in the link we\u2019ll send you so we can get football news tailored to you.<\/p>\n Chelsea had even made a verbal enquiry for the Belgium international \u2013 but it appears he could be heading to Everton instead.<\/p>\n Who is Malick Fofana?<\/p>\n \t\t Fofana has played a total of 64 games for Lyon to date, conjuring up 15 goals and seven assists for the Ligue 1 side.<\/p>\n The Belgian helped Lyon reach the Coupe de France final in 2024 and has established himself as one of the brightest young talents across\u00a0Europe<\/a>.<\/p>\n Fofana joined Lyon from Gent in January 2024, with the French club paying a fee of \u20ac17 million plus \u20ac5 million in add-ons to sign the player.<\/p>\n \t\t It\u2019s thought that Lyon want to\u00a0secure at least \u20ac40m (\u00a335m) in fixed terms to allow Fofana to join Everton.<\/p>\n Everton are keen to wrap up the deal as soon as possible due to the interest from other Premier League teams.<\/p>\n Who have Everton signed this summer?<\/p>\n Fofana could become Everton\u2019s third summer signing after deals for Villarreal forward Thierno Barry and AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers.<\/p>\n Carlos Alcaraz has also joined Everton on a permanent deal after a spell on loan from Flamengo last season.<\/p>\n Everton are not done there, though, with the Merseyside club progressing in a move to sign Bayern Munich defender Adam Aznou too.<\/p>\n The Toffees are set for a new era in the 2025-26 campaign after moving into their brand new Hill Dickinson Stadium.<\/p>\n Everton face a trip to promoted side Leeds United on August 18 in their opening game of the upcoming Premier League season.<\/p>\n \t\t\tComments Arrow Arrow![\"Olympique](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-2204926210.jpg\")
