Hollywood<\/a> has a long and storied obsession with courtroom dramas. And the clue is in the name; lawsuits and prosecutions have a narrative that can spark jaw-dropping outcomes on occasion, and the writers and directors of movies have captured them to fine effect for decades.<\/p>\n

Some examples of when they do that well would be the incredible Anatomy of a Murder with Jimmy Stewart,<\/a> which if you haven\u2019t seen is an absolute must, Sidney Lumet\u2019s 12 Angry Men which is like sitting in a pressure cooker for 90 minutes (in a good way) and the fantastically twisty Witness for the Prosecution, which has a kind of \u2018Bruce Willis in The Sixth Sense\u2019 moment.<\/p>\n

But the courtroom isn\u2019t always a place for gripping drama. Hollywood sometimes also likes to make legal movies about the most pointless, irrelevant stuff, plots revolving around lawsuits<\/a> that either make no sense or aren\u2019t rooted in reality.<\/p>\n
