John Torode<\/a> has broken his silence after being dropped from MasterChef<\/a>, saying he has \u201cnothing to prove\u201d, just hours after BBC boss Tim Davie was forced out amid mounting scandal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 60-year-old Australian chef was axed from the long-running cooking show<\/a> in July following allegations that he had used \u201cextremely offensive racist language\u201d in 2018 \u2014 claims he says he has \u201cno recollection\u201d of.<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Torode shared a reflective message on his Stories that read: \u201cThe best decision I ever made? To be quiet and move on. I have nothing to prove. I\u2019m not here to convince anyone to love me or that I\u2019m a great person.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not fixing what I didn\u2019t break, and I\u2019m not fighting for anyone to see my worth. Whatever you do is on you \u2014 and that\u2019s your journey, not mine. As for me? I\u2019m moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

His post came as the BBC<\/a> plunged deeper into crisis following Davie\u2019s dramatic exit after 20 years at the corporation.<\/p>\n

The outgoing director-general had faced escalating scrutiny over impartiality and a series of damaging scandals during his tenure.<\/p>\n

They include the prosecution of newsreader Huw Edwards over possession of indecent images of children, the sackings of both MasterChef hosts Gregg Wallace and Torode<\/a>, and the backlash over a Glastonbury performance in which rapper Bob Vylan chanted \u201cDeath to the IDF\u201d during the BBC\u2019s live coverage<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wallace, 61, stood down from MasterChef last November and was later dropped completely in July after an internal investigation upheld 45 allegations about his conduct<\/a>, including inappropriate sexual language and unwanted physical contact.<\/p>\n

Torode went on to host the show alongside Grace Dent before, he says, discovering via the BBC News website that he had been axed.<\/p>\n

His wife, actor Lisa Faulkner, told the Daily Mail: \u201cMasterChef will not be the same without John. But he\u2019s doing OK.\u201d Torode previously said: \u201cLife goes on. I\u2019ve had a lot of support and I\u2019m very grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Wallace<\/a> is suing the BBC and one of its subsidiaries, claiming \u201cdistress and harassment\u201d and seeking up to \u00a310,000 in damages for alleged failure to disclose his personal data<\/a>.<\/p>\n
