Liverpool have announced they will build a sculpture at Anfield in memory of Diogo Jota, as well as marking both their shirts and playing jackets with a \u2018Forever 20′ emblem.<\/p>\n
There will also be a minute\u2019s silence and a fan mosaic ahead of the opening game of the Premier League season at home to Bournemouth on August 15.<\/p>\n
Tributes have been placed outside Anfield since Jota and his brother Andre Silva died in a car crash on July 3.<\/p>\n
Those have now been moved, with tributes being stored and flowers composted to be used across the clubs training facilities and Anfield.<\/p>\n
All remaining artefacts will be recycled and used to create a permanent memorial sculpture, which will become a place for remembrance at Liverpool\u2019s stadium.<\/p>\n
It was previously announced by the club that their No. 20 jersey has been retired, including in the academy and women\u2019s teams – and the LFC Foundation are looking to create a grassroots football programme in the name of Jota.<\/p>\n
A floral tribute was laid ahead of Liverpool\u2019s 4-2 loss to AC Milan in Hong Kong and there will be similar tributes in their remaining friendlies against Yokohama in Tokyo and Athletic Club at Anfield.<\/p>\n
Jota spent five seasons at Liverpool, after making the switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020.<\/p>\n
Whilst at Anfield he was a key part of the squad who won the Premier League last season, as well as the FA Cup in 2022 and two League Cups.<\/p>\n
