Caernarfon<\/a> bypass closed in both directions as emergency services responded.<\/p>\nSadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Police have now named him as Geraint Jones, aged 64, with a tribute paid to him from his family.<\/p>\n
His family said: \u201cWe are absolutely devastated at the loss of a beloved husband, father and grandfather.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a family, we would like to thank the emergency services and all others involved in trying to help Geraint on the night of Sunday, 9 November.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would also like to thank everyone for the kind messages of love and support at this sad time.<\/p>\n
\u201cGeraint leaves a wife, Mary, sons Richard and Patrick, and grandchildren Ella, Leo and Isaac.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sergeant Katie Davies from the force’s Roads Policing Unit said: \u201cI share my deepest condolences with the man\u2019s family at this incredibly difficult time.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to contact police.<\/p>\n
“I am also appealing to anyone who was travelling along the A487 prior to 8.30pm yesterday evening and saw a man walking along the bypass to contact us.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnybody with information that could assist with our investigations should contact police via our website or by calling 101, quoting reference C174462.\u201d<\/p>\n
