In the European session, the main highlight was the UK GDP report. The data was generally weaker than expected but with the market already expecting a cut in December, it didn’t change much. <\/p>\n
In the American session, we don’t have anything on the agenda other than a couple of Fed speakers. I’m not sure but maybe we could get jobless claims today as the shutdown finally ended. It’s a very remote possibility I guess. <\/p>\n
The September NFP report could also be released pretty soon, maybe even tomorrow given that it was meant to come out just two days after the shutdown started. <\/p>\n
The White House said that the October NFP might not be released at all, and I think that’s a good thing because I would want to see the most recent data before the next FOMC and not old data that could just create unnecessary volatility. <\/p>\n
