The Chief of Staff of Ghana, <\/a><\/a><\/a>Julius Debrah<\/a>, has given a firm assurance that things are in place and on track for the government to fully operationalise its flagship policy program, the 24-Hour Economy. <\/p>\n

He explained that there already exist some companies in Ghana that are helping to make this dream a reality, as well as position Ghana as a hub for manufacturing in the West African region. <\/p>\n

He made this known in an interaction with the media after a working visit to the factories of Nutrifoods Ghana Limited on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. <\/p>\n

Addressing the media after the familiarisation tour, <\/a><\/a><\/a>Julius Debrah<\/a> stated that; \u201cIt is a very beautiful place to be, apart from the fact that what they are doing is so impressive, you can also tell how much attention they are paying to the Ghanaian employees. <\/p>\n

“It was great hearing from some of them who have been here for 13 years, some 14 years, and so there must be a company policy that encourages workers to stay on. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnother important thing, which is the main reason for which we came here, as part of what the president intends doing, is introducing the 24-Hour Economy that we all know. And we were looking for a model; a business model that is putting into practice some of the vision that the president is aiming at. And we were so impressed to hear from them that one of the things they are looking at, and which they believe in, is that Ghana must be the manufacturing hub of West Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chief of Staff further stated that the reach of the company regarding exports of its products to some other parts of the sub-region shows more proof that they are perfect for the president\u2019s agenda. <\/p>\n

<\/a><\/a><\/a>Julius Debrah<\/a>, therefore, urged Ghanaians to change their mindsets about manufacturing and exportation, stressing that it is possible that Ghana can become the hub for products manufacturing if hearts are put to it. <\/p>\n

President <\/a><\/a>John Dramani Mahama<\/a> launches Nkoko Nketenkete project to boost food security<\/p>\n

\u201cI was so impressed to hear that they export to as far as Guinea-Bissau, Burkina Faso, and all those countries. <\/p>\n

“That is the model that President Mahama has in mind, that ultimately, we are able to have several such manufacturing entities that will believe in the vision that they should run two or three shifts as a way of creating employment for Ghanaians, and also taking charge as far as manufacturing products to other West African countries are concerned. <\/p>\n

\u201cI am very happy the president has gotten it right because when we got here, and from what they explained, they even started doing 24-Hour Economy a long time ago\u2026 They also explained that almost all their product inputs are locally-sourced\u2026 Now, as a country, we need to get the psych right; we need to believe in ourselves that Ghana can export to the entire West African subregion. This is not a fallacy or a political gimmick,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n

He further stated that; \u201cSo, if you have the manufacturers themselves following in the vision of the president, I think we\u2019ve got the first part of right.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chief of Staff, <\/a><\/a><\/a>Julius Debrah<\/a>, also commended the management and staff of Nutrifoods Ghana Limited for their significant investments in the country and their continued contribution to national development. <\/p>\n

He noted the company\u2019s dedication to producing safe, nutritious food for Ghanaians while adhering strictly to regulatory protocols and industry standards.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour commitment to consumer safety and implementing systems that ensure the final products first meet regulatory requirements and are safe for Ghanaians is deeply commendable. It is my hope that the upgraded can-making line will not only enhance productivity but also sustain the livelihoods of employees here at Nutrifoods Ghana Limited,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

The Managing Director and Business Head of Nutrifoods Ghana Limited, Jay Anjaria, stated that the upgraded can-making line at their factories also reinforces the company\u2019s contribution to the government\u2019s Invest in Ghana initiative, which promotes local industrial growth. <\/p>\n

He emphasised Nutrifoods\u2019 commitment to global food safety and quality standards across both manufacturing plants.<\/p>\n

We hold ourselves to the highest quality benchmarks in developing home-grown brands that meet the needs of the Ghanaian market. Our products are proudly Ghanaian nurtured from ideation to execution. Anjaria also highlighted Nutrifoods\u2019 commitment to job creation and continued investment in building the intellectual and technical capacity required to support the future of manufacturing excellence in Ghana.<\/p>\n

The Chief of Staff, toured Nutrifoods factories, located at Community 20 near the Abattoir and the Tema Industrial Area which are both recognized as the largest snacks and culinary food manufacturing facilities in Ghana. During the visit, he also commissioned the upgraded canmaking line with an investment value of more than US $500,000 at the culinary plant in the Tema Industrial Area.<\/p>\n

The processing line upgrade is in line with the management\u2019s commitment to consumer safety as well as benchmarking global quality standards across its operations. <\/p>\n

The facility enhancement is expected to further strengthen Nutrifoods\u2019 safety controls, reinforce quality assurance, and guarantee consumers quality products. It will also allow the company to expand production capacity and maintain a consistent 24-hour production schedule, aligned with the government\u2019s 24-Hour Economy initiative to sustain employment and economic growth.<\/p>\n

The Chief of Staff was accompanied by the Minister of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, Legal Advisor to President <\/a>John Dramani Mahama<\/a>; among others.<\/p>\n
