{"id":261066,"date":"2025-11-13T20:19:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T20:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/261066\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T20:19:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T20:19:08","slug":"newport-new-19-hills-health-wellbeing-centre-opened","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/261066\/","title":{"rendered":"Newport: New 19 Hills Health &#038; Wellbeing Centre opened"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  A special ceremony was held on Thursday, November 13, to mark the opening of the 19 Hills Health &amp; Wellbeing Centre in Ringland, Newport, by Jeremy Miles, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Aneurin Bevan University Health Board said the centre is a &#8220;major milestone&#8221; in their commitment to &#8220;person-centred care&#8221;.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The facility will support physical and mental wellbeing by bringing together a range of services under one roof.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  It is part of the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board\u2019s Clinical Futures Programme; a plan to move more services out of hospitals and into community settings.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The centre boasts purpose-built spaces for primary care, mental health support, community services, and wellbeing initiatives.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Jeremy Miles MS, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care opened the new 19 Hills Health &amp; Wellbeing Centre (Image: Aneurin Bevan University Health Board)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  At the opening ceremony, Mr Miles said: &#8220;I&#8217;m delighted to officially open the 19 Hills Health &amp; Wellbeing Centre today.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;This centre is part of our commitment to invest in a new generation of integrated health and social care facilities across Wales \u2013 bringing care into the heart of local communities, much closer to people&#8217;s homes.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;Centres like 19 Hills are key to supporting people to live, and stay, well \u2013 helping them manage their own health conditions and preventing unnecessary hospital admissions.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;This is a powerful example of how long-term strategic planning and collaborative working can truly transform communities.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;This is the future of healthcare in Wales \u2013 integrated services firmly rooted in the community and designed around the needs of local people.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  READ MORE\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The event was attended by invited guests including representatives from local government, partner organisations, and members of the construction and design teams who helped bring the centre to life.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>The outside of the newly opened 19 Hills Health &amp; Wellbeing Centre (Image: Aneurin Bevan University Health Board)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Staff from across the health board also joined the celebration, marking the culmination of years of planning and collaboration.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Nicola Prygodzicz, chief executive of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, said: \u201cWe are thrilled to officially open 19 Hills Health &amp; Wellbeing Centre \u2013 a facility that reflects our vision for the future of healthcare in Gwent. This Centre is more than just a building; it\u2019s a hub for integrated care, designed to support people in the local communities to live healthier, more connected lives.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cOur teams have worked incredibly hard to create a space that promotes wellbeing in every sense \u2013 from the services it offers to the environment it provides.
