The DP World Tour Championship<\/a> continues on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Masters champion Rory McIlroy<\/a> remains on course to win his seventh order of merit title and fourth in a row after 18 holes on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old carded a 66 on Thursday and trails early leader, America’s Michael Kim, by two strokes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Only two players, Marco Penge and Tyrrell Hatton, can catch<\/a> McIlroy in the points race.<\/p>\n

Penge, who is battling a sickness bug<\/a>, struggled on day one and carded a 72. Hatton fired a two-under 70.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, McIlroy’s Ryder Cup teammates, Tommy Fleetwood<\/a> and Shane Lowry, are also inside the top-10.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fleetwood is chasing his third win of the season whilst Lowry has not won a professional golf event since the 2022 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The second round of the DP World Tour Championship will begin at 8:15am local time (4:15am GMT).\u00a0<\/p>\n

McIlroy’s will play round two with Brandon Robinson-Thompson. Fleetwood will play with the aforementioned Kim.\u00a0<\/p>\n
