This time, it\u2019s Firefox, the self-described \u201cindependent browser\u201d from Mozilla. Firefox says it is <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mozilla.org\/en\/firefox\/ai-window\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">building an AI browsing feature called AI Window<\/a> that includes an AI assistant and chatbot. The company calls it an opt-in \u201cintelligent and user-controlled space\u201d that is currently being built \u201cin the open\u201d with user input.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">In September, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/774129\/firefox-shake-to-summarize-ios-ai-launch\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launched a \u201cshake to summarize\u201d feature<\/a> in Firefox that uses AI to generate summaries of webpages that are open on your iPhone. Mozilla positions itself as the respectful browsing company that gives users the option to use as much AI as they want.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">\u201cWhile others are building AI experiences that keep you locked in a conversational loop, we see a different path \u2014 one where AI serves as a trusted companion, enhancing your browsing experience and guiding you outward to the broader web,\u201d Mozilla wrote on its company blog.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">AI Window will be one of three browsing experiences offered to Firefox users in addition to the private and classic windows. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/connect.mozilla.org\/t5\/discussions\/building-ai-the-firefox-way-shaping-what-s-next-together\/td-p\/109922\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">post to the Mozilla Connect forum<\/a> on Thursday, the company wrote that users will be able to pick the AI model they want to use in AI Window, but offered few additional details.
