A dad has shared his shocking encounter with a delivery driver who appeared to let himself into his family<\/a> home.<\/p>\n Father-of-four James McMurdock took to X last night to share the terrifying encounter at his family home. Mr McMurdock, an Essex MP for South Basildon and East Thurrock<\/a>, was able to confront the delivery driver but he has since reflected on the incident and shared his fears for the safety of his wife or teenage daughter had he not been there.<\/p>\n In a lengthy post on social media Mr McMurdock said: “Tonight an Amazon delivery driver let himself into my home. It was lucky that I was in the right place to confront him immediately, but it shocked me and the question that keeps coming back to me is this: What if my wife or teenage daughter had been standing in my place?<\/p>\n READ MORE: Family’s heartbreak after great-grandmother, 69, killed in Morrisons car park<\/a><\/p>\n READ MORE: Ryanair passenger given bin bag by staff during embarrassing airport ordeal<\/a><\/p>\n He added: “The footage is clear: the driver approaches the door, breathing heavily, he checks the handle, and pushes his way inside. I don\u2019t know what his intentions were, and that is exactly the point.”<\/p>\n Mr McMurdock claims he reproted the incident to police only to be told “Trespass is a civil matter. There\u2019s nothing we can do.”<\/p>\n The post continued: “At a time when delivery companies are hiring thousands of temporary drivers, Who is turning up at our doors? What level of risk are families being exposed to? And most critically: What message does this legal loophole send to someone with bad intentions?”<\/p>\n Sharing his thoughts on the incident he concluded: “This is utterly unacceptable. I will raise this in Parliament. I will not wait and risk someone being harmed before action is taken.
