{"id":263319,"date":"2025-11-14T23:46:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-14T23:46:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/263319\/"},"modified":"2025-11-14T23:46:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T23:46:10","slug":"the-sex-pistols-john-lydon-tries-orange-chips-in-bilston","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/263319\/","title":{"rendered":"The Sex Pistols&#8217; John Lydon tries orange chips in Bilston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">John Lydon, the former Sex Pistols frontman, has tucked into his first taste of a Black Country classic &#8211; orange chips. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Lydon, also known by his former stage name Johnny Rotten, was in Bilston on Thursday for a sold-out show at The Robin with his group Public Image Ltd &#8211; which he formed in 1978 after the Sex Pistols split. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The singer-songwriter requested fish and chips from popular nearby chippy Major&#8217;s after the venue&#8217;s boss Frances Tranter told him they were &#8220;the best in the world&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Lydon said: &#8220;The chips are the same colour as my jumper &#8211; orange.
