That is why I will ask the Bank of Ghana to be less aggressive,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Prof Bokpin also expressed optimism that the current government would successfully exit the ongoing programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). <\/p>\n<p>He commended the administration\u2019s approach to economic recovery and urged President John Mahama to establish a performance framework that future governments can adopt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Mahama has an option not to go the way of Akufo-Addo. He should set a new marking scheme for future governments. They are going to exit successfully,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n<p>His remarks followed earlier comments by the Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, who accused the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration of lacking financial discipline and political will.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dr Ato Forson, prudent management under the current government has helped stabilise the economy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanaweb.com\/GhanaHomePage\/NewsArchive\/You-re-too-small-to-disrespect-this-house-Mahama-Ayariga-berates-Afenyo-Markin-2009439\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;You&#8217;re too small to disrespect this house&#8217; &#8211; Mahama Ayariga berates Afenyo-Markin<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrudent management and political will are what have helped to turn the tide. The NPP didn\u2019t have it. All they needed to do was to be disciplined; unfortunately, they did not.
