\n Influential English alternative rock band, Inspiral Carpets, became one of the defining sounds of the late 80s and early 90s.\n<\/p>\n
\n The band was formed in Oldham, Greater Manchester in 1983, and consists of Tom Hingley (vocals), Craig Gill (drums), Graham Lambert (guitar), Martyn Walsh (bass), and Clint Boon (organ\/vocals).\n<\/p>\n
\n Alongside The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays, they were central to the Madchester movement, a cultural explosion that shaped a generation of British music.\n<\/p>\n
\n Bassist Martyn Walsh said: \u201cIt feels quite bittersweet performing but exciting.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cBittersweet because our bandmate Craig Gill passed away in 2016, and we felt like that was it.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It doesn\u2019t feel the same, but life\u2019s too short, and it just felt right to go back on tour.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cNow we have a fresh perspective. We love what we do, and it reminds us of why we started in the first place.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We\u2019ve found a new enthusiasm, all we care about is putting on a good show and giving it our best.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Inspiral Carpets achieved thirteen UK Top 40 singles, including classics such as This Is How It Feels and Saturn 5.\n<\/p>\n
\n Walsh said the band embraces the changes in technology and music since their early days.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cIt\u2019s very exciting to see a new generation discovering our music. I\u2019d love to see a lot of young people at our show as well as all age groups.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Fans can also expect new material next year, and Walsh hinted that favourites like Sackville and I Want You are sure to get a big reaction on the night.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We cannot wait to meet everyone, and hope everyone enjoys the show!”\n<\/p>\n
