This week\u2019s Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> saw the contestants vying for a spot in next week\u2019s all-important Blackpool edition<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Love Island star Amber Davies<\/a> and Nikita Kuzmin<\/a> topped the leaderboard with a near-perfect score<\/a> of 38 for their dramatic Paso Doble to \u201cDream On\u201d by Aerosmith \u2013 with Kuzmin catching viewers\u2019 attention wearing a shirtless ensemble. Judge Anton du Beke<\/a> said the dance was \u201cthrilling to watch, very exciting\u201d while Moti Mabuse commented on the \u201cdrama, presentation and timing\u201d. <\/p>\n

Other high scorers were Lewis Cope and Katya Jones for their Tango to \u201c12 to 12\u201d by sombr, receiving a score of 37.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Alex Kingston and Johannes Radebe scored a strong 35 for their Waltz to \u201cWeekend in New England\u201d by Barry Manilow. Judge Shirley Ballas said Kingston was \u201cmuch more comfortable, classy and feminine, beautiful footwork, got a bit too forward but goosebump-inducing and fantastic\u201d. Anton Du Beke added that their footwork was in complete \u201charmony\u201d.<\/p>\n

EastEnders actor Balvinder Sopal and her pro partner saw themselves in dance-off territory for their American smooth to \u201cMy Guy\u201d by Mary Wells, which received low marks from the judges, placing them at the bottom of the leaderboard. Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington, who were at the top of the leaderboard last week for a near-perfect score of 39, dropped down the bottom with a score of 27 for their jive to \u201cSound of the Underground\u201d by Girls Aloud.<\/p>\n

Last week saw the athlete Harry Aikines-Aryeetey become the sixth celebrity to be eliminated from the competition<\/a> last Sunday, alongside his pro partner Karen Hauer.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old was voted off after appearing in a dance-off against RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race UK star La Voix and Alja\u017e \u0160korjanec.<\/p>\n

George Clarke and Alexis Warr: 6 + 7 + 8 + 8 = 29<\/p>\n

Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington: 6 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 27<\/p>\n
