Sharon Osbourne has called for Black Sabbath<\/a>\u2019s first manager not to release an album of the band\u2019s earliest recordings.<\/p>\n

In June, it\u00a0was announced that a\u00a0compilation\u00a0of demos that\u00a0Ozzy Osbourne<\/a>,\u00a0Tony Iommi<\/a>,\u00a0 Geezer Butler<\/a>\u00a0and Bill Ward recorded in 1969 when they still went by the name Earth\u00a0was to be released under the title \u2018Earth: The Legendary Lost Tapes\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The tracks were recorded in Zella Studios in\u00a0Birmingham\u00a0and the new release was set to be overseen by Jim Simpson, the band\u2019s manager at the time, with\u00a0an initial\u00a0release date of July this year.<\/p>\n

That release did not happen, however, and now Sharon Osbourne has spoken out against the project. She issued\u00a0a detailed social media post\u00a0on Saturday (November 15)\u00a0in which she outlined the Black Sabbath legal position, which disputes the legal ownership of the recordings.<\/p>\n

She has also shared an email that she claims she sent to Simpson in July.\u00a0\u201cAs you know, the Band do not want these tapes released, not least as they haven\u2019t heard them despite you saying you would provide copies long ago,\u201d she wrote. \u201cYou know that, as a band, Black Sabbath don\u2019t take things lying down and you can be assured that if you go ahead with this against the Band\u2019s wishes we will take any action [when and] where their rights are infringed, both here and in America.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sharon Osbourne also criticised the release on a recent episode of\u00a0The Osbournes podcast, in which she made a series of claims, including disputing Simpson\u2019s claim that he paid \u00a3500 for the studio session in 1969, and claiming he intended to keep all of the profits for himself.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

That podcast\u00a0prompted a response from Simpson, who\u00a0said (via\u00a0Blabbermouth<\/a>): \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0such a shame Sharon has decided to go all out on the attack without sitting down to talk about this.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0also very unfair of her to make such inaccurate and potentially defamatory comments.\u201d<\/p>\n

He has also said he still wants \u201call bandmembers to receive royalties from the album in the usual way\u201d, and\u00a0clams\u00a0he offered to meet with Sharon this July. \u201cIf they want to\u00a0strike\u00a0a deal with me to launch this album, I would therefore be delighted to discuss that with them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

As it stands, \u2018Earth: The Legendary Lost Tapes\u2019 has not been released.<\/p>\n

In other news, the Osbourne family recently revealed that\u00a0both Donald Trump and King Charles reached out to them after Ozzy\u2019s death in July<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They\u00a0also\u00a0revealed that Ozzy was secretly hospitalised just two weeks before his final concert<\/a>.
