Tech companies are pumping billions into the growth of artificial intelligence, with OpenAI this month signing a $38bn (\u00a329bn)<\/a> cloud computing deal with Amazon as part of a $3tn<\/a> datacentre spending spree.<\/p>\n

But as people increasingly use AI chatbots \u2013 such as OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT, Google\u2019s Gemini, Microsoft\u2019s Copilot, Meta AI and Perplexity \u2013 for advice and task completion, some observers have concerns about misinformation, hullicinations<\/a> and irresponsible advice.<\/p>\n

A survey this year from KPMG and the University of Melbourne found that 80 percent<\/a> of people in the UK believe AI regulation is required.<\/p>\n
