A charity is marking 60 years of supporting people with mental health challenges.<\/p>\n
Response, which operates in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire was founded by a group of volunteers and has grown into the region\u2019s largest independent mental health and housing charity in the last six decades.<\/p>\n
Nicola Leavesley, chief executive of Response, said: “It is with great pride that we celebrate our 60-year anniversary, allowing a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what the charity has achieved.<\/p>\n
“Response delivers extensive vital care to those who need it most, enabling them to live life to the best of their potential.<\/p>\n
“We reduce pressure on public services, but we now face record, urgent, demand for our services and the need to fundraise to help us support more people has never been greater.”<\/p>\n
The charity supports people aged 11 and above with mental health needs, including those who are homeless or living with complex challenges.<\/p>\n
It offers a range of services in partnership with the NHS and local authorities, including supported accommodation, independent living skills, and emotional resilience programmes for young people.<\/p>\n
Mrs Leavesley added: “The services we offer continue to be critical to the community and those suffering with their mental health.<\/p>\n
