A bear was culled after it entered a commercial building in Japan’s northeastern prefecture of Akita on Sunday. Police say no one was injured.<\/p>\n
Police received a report at around 11:20 a.m. that workers had confined a bear inside a facility operated by Japanese retail giant Aeon in the city of Noshiro.<\/p>\n
Police say the bear was about 80 centimeters long, and that it remained on the first floor. They cordoned off the facility and restricted traffic on nearby roads.<\/p>\n
City officials say Akita prefectural staff later tranquilized the bear with a blow dart. The animal was culled in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
