Council could approve plans to make golf course a ‘nature park’<\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n He said that there is ‘no question’ of the golf course being built on, adding that ‘this wonderful environment will be preserved for everyone’.\n<\/p>\n
\n Cllr Jeff Hanna said: “The rumours going round on social media about the golf course being closed are causing serious concern \u2013 and deserve an explanation.\n<\/p>\n
\n “First, there is no question of the golf course being built on. It is open land, and it will stay as open land.”\n<\/p>\n
\n He said that rumours have been sparked as the lease on the golf course is coming to an end and it gives the council the chance to see how the area can be improved.\n<\/p>\n
\n Cllr Hanna added: “What is being explored is creating a nature park. This is great for the environment, and for bio-diversity, enabling wild-life to thrive.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It does not stop people from enjoying it. We value all our open spaces. This area is safe for years to come, to benefit our kids, our grand-kids, everyone.”\n<\/p>\n
