Kit Harington<\/a> is looking back at an \u201cembarrassing\u201d moment he had while filming a kissing scene with Sophie Turner <\/a>\u2014\u00a0and, no, it wasn\u2019t just because they once played siblings on Game of Thrones<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old actor revealed in a recent E! News<\/a> interview that he had to stand atop an apple box in order to kiss Turner for a scene in their upcoming Gothic horror film, The Dreadful<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“It was slightly embarrassing, having to get on an apple box to kiss her because she’s about a foot taller than me,” he told the outlet. “But other than that, my dignity was pretty intact.”<\/p>\n

Apple boxes aside, Harington was grateful to have the chance to work with Turner, 29, after their eight-year-long stint together on Game of Thrones.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It was a good chance to be with her again and work together,” he said. “What was lovely is that we got on set together and our friendship completely ignited again. It felt like being with family. It really did.”<\/p>\n

Written and directed by Natasha Kermani, The Dreadful stars Turner as Anne, a young woman whose life is turned upside down after the arrival of a mysterious man from her past.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking with Seth Meyers on Late Night in August, Turner said that she knew immediately that Harington would be the perfect person to play her character\u2019s lover Jago \u2014\u00a0but hadn\u2019t really considered what the material would require of them.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cHe kind of sent me a message back going like, \u2018Yeah, I\u2019d love to, but this is going to be really f—ing weird, Soph,\u2019\u201d Turner recalled. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018What is he talking about?\u2019 And then I was reading it and I\u2019m like, kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex, and then I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, shoot, that\u2019s my brother.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair decided in the end that the script was simply too good for them to pass up just because they once played siblings. She added, \u201cHe was like, \u2018We kind of have to do it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

That didn\u2019t make the eventual kissing scenes any easier, though.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe get on set and it\u2019s the first kissing scene and we are both retching,\u201d Turner confessed. \u201cLike, really, it is vile. It was the worst. Another really bad moment in my career.\u201d<\/p>\n
