Wood, an accomplished artist, is marking the milestone anniversary with Paint It Black, a new collection of paintings that features portraits of him and bandmates Mick Jagger<\/a>, Keith Richards<\/a> and the late Charlie Watts<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s hard to believe it\u2019s been 50 years since I joined The Rolling Stones. In these portraits, I wanted to capture the spirit of Mick, Keith, me and our late friend Charlie Watts, and the live shows we\u2019ve been lucky enough to play together,\u201d Wood, 78, said in a statement. \u201cI\u2019m proud of the journey we\u2019ve been on, and it felt right to share these prints with the world now. Jagger\u2019s image is called \u201cOut of Control,\u201d and features the frontman in black pants and a black T-shirt performing with his arms outstretched.<\/p>\n Richards\u2019 is titled \u201cDoctor,\u201d and shows him pouting while wearing his signature head scarf, while Watts\u2019 is called \u201cTight Section,\u201d and features him seated behind his drum kit holding a drumstick up to his head.<\/p>\n The collection features signed, limited edition prints of each of the portraits, with Wood personalizing each one with a message of choice for fans. The release also comes amid the reissue of Black and Blue, Wood\u2019s first record with the band following the departure of Mick Taylor<\/a>. According to a press release, his early childhood paintings made it onto BBC\u2019s Sketch Club, and one even won a prize.<\/p>\n \u201cI paint to music, and sometimes when I\u2019m playing, in my head I\u2019m doing it to a painting,\u201d he said in a statement. \u201cArt fills my life, art is my life, and art will continue to be my life.\u201d<\/p>\n In 2024, the rocker gave a tour of his art studio in a video shared to Facebook<\/a>, and was asked who of his bandmates was his favorite to paint.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re all a challenge really, but my fellow axeman Keith has probably got the most changeable face for me,” he said. “Mind you, Mick is very hard to capture. They\u2019re difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n The portraits are now available for sale<\/a> on the Ronnie Wood Shop<\/a>.
