Johnson was able to get up once again, but he was in no shape to continue, and the referee stepped in to put a halt to the contest. In his most recent ring appearance, Deric Davis stopped Leandro Damian Medina in the second round when he landed a devastating left-hand shot to the body.

About a week after stopping Medina, the 23-year-old Deric “Scooter” Davis (8-0, 8 KOs) signed a long-term promotional contract with Top Rank Boxing. Immediately after signing with Top Rank, Davis spoke about his big career move.
