If you\u2019re not already taking of them on your phone, you are seriously missing out, and lately we\u2019ve been getting excited about them coming to our cars. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/android-auto-home-screen-widgets-3611109\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Android Auto is working on widget support<\/a>, and we\u2019ve now spotted some new options for how those widgets will work.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re looking at Android Auto version 15.7.654604-release beta, and compared to the last time we checked in on the options Google was developing for Auto home screen widgets, the UI shows new controls:<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"e_Gg\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"android auto widgets ui 1\"  alt=\"android auto widgets ui 1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/android-auto-widgets-ui-1.jpg\"\/><img class=\"e_Gg\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"android auto widgets ui 2\"  alt=\"android auto widgets ui 2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/android-auto-widgets-ui-2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>While before we only had that scaling component, we now find a new height slider, as well as options for placement. And like we mentioned last time around, that \u201cEarth\u201d label is a codenamed we\u2019ve identified as\u00a0 referring to Android Auto Widgets.<\/p>\n<p>We also find that new \u201cScreenshot\u201d button in the top-left. Like the rest of this, that option isn\u2019t yet working for us, and we\u2019ll be curious to see if it sticks around for the public release, or if this is more of an internal tool.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t want to miss the best from Android Authority?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/andauth.co\/AAGooglePreferredSource\" class=\"e_Em\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\"><img class=\"e_Gg\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"google preferred source badge light@2x\"  alt=\"google preferred source badge light@2x\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/google_preferred_source_badge_light@2x.png\"\/><img class=\"e_Gg\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"google preferred source badge dark@2x\"  alt=\"google preferred source badge dark@2x\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/google_preferred_source_badge_dark@2x.png\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Beyond that tweak, we\u2019ve also spotted what appears to be a new option in the works for Android Auto\u2019s screen-bottom navigation rail. Right now what we have is very spread out, with apps in the middle, clock on the left, and buttons on the right:<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"e_Gg\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"android auto nav rail 1\"  alt=\"android auto nav rail 1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/android-auto-nav-rail-1.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>AssembleDebug \/ Android Authority<\/p>\n<p>If you find yourself thinking twice before reaching for your Android Auto screen, making sure you\u2019re tapping in the right place, you may prefer the simpler arrangement of this alternative layout we\u2019ve identified:<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"e_Gg\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"android auto nav rail 2\"  alt=\"android auto nav rail 2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/android-auto-nav-rail-2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>AssembleDebug \/ Android Authority<\/p>\n<p>With this view active, Android Auto condenses everything into the middle. There are some casualties along the way, as we lose that convenient time display and get access to one fewer app \u2014 and honestly, we\u2019re not quite convinced that this might be a change for the best. But it\u2019s also one that\u2019s not currently active, and Google can take all the time it needs to iterate upon options like this one before it decides to run with any.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll keep looking to identify those, and share any more tweaks to these features Google ends up implementing.<\/p>\n<p>\u26a0\ufe0f An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code.
