There\u2019s a huge impediment to a happy-ever-after for Aaron Dingle<\/a> (Danny Miller<\/a>) and Robert Sugden<\/a> (Ryan Hawley<\/a>) in Emmerdale<\/a> \u2013 and his name is Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill<\/a>). <\/p>\n And the thing with Kev is, as well as being Robert\u2019s actual husband, he\u2019s also practically the human definition of the term \u2018loose cannon.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n A special flashback episode showed how Kev and Robert got together while they were cell mates\u00a0in prison. <\/p>\n Robert was the target of some brutal treatment from the other prisoners and Kev stepped in to sort the situation out and ensure he was safe. Despite Kev protesting that he wasn\u2019t gay, eventually their friendship turned into something more and they got married.\u00a0<\/p>\n When Robert left the prison he thought that would be the last he\u2019d see of lifer Kev, but Kev recently turned up in the village. He told Robert he was allowed an early release because he was terminally ill.\u00a0<\/p>\n To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web Viewers have known for a while that isn\u2019t true<\/a>, but the only person in the village who knows it isn\u2019t true is GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) \u2013 and Kev has made it very clear that Liam would be wise not to say anything, especially to Robert. Kev can be a very scary man<\/a>, so Liam has so far kept quiet.\u00a0<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Robert and Aaron are desperate to be together, but can\u2019t risk Kev finding out. Robert has told Kev that he no longer wants to be with him<\/a> as a couple, although he has promised to be by his side when he dies \u2013 something that Robert thinks will happen fairly soon, but Kev knows will probably be decades away.\u00a0<\/p>\n The best case scenario for Aaron and Robert would be if Kev either decided to leave the village, or was persuaded to leave. And in upcoming episodes they come up with a plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t Kev has been back to his old profession of robbery and is stashing the proceeds somewhere. Robert tries to find out where.\u00a0<\/p>\n He and Aaron tell Chas (Lucy Pargeter) they have a plan to get Kev out of their lives and Chas agrees she\u2019ll help them. <\/p>\n Their plotting is interrupted by Liam, and as he listens to the plan it\u2019s clear to the others that he\u2019s hiding something. Eventually he caves in and tells them that Kev is not terminally ill.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t Obviously this comes as a shock but it reinforces Robert and Aaron\u2019s idea that they need to get Kev out of their lives and their plan is the best way.\u00a0<\/p>\n Later the same day, Kev is in the church checking on the loot from the robbery which is stashed there. Aaron is secretly watching him, and he makes a call to Robert.\u00a0<\/p>\n And soon the police arrive \u2013 and Kev is arrested for armed robbery and is bundled into a police car and taken to the station.\u00a0<\/p>\n Is that the last we\u2019ll see of Kev in the village?\u00a0<\/p>\n Arrow Arrow Arrow
