{"id":269302,"date":"2025-11-18T08:00:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T08:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/269302\/"},"modified":"2025-11-18T08:00:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T08:00:08","slug":"north-yorkshire-stars-of-the-choral-share-first-film-experiences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/269302\/","title":{"rendered":"North Yorkshire stars of The Choral share first film experiences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">When Ralph Fiennes walks into a room, you feel his presence before you see him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">So says 20-year-old Oliver (Ollie) Briscombe, who stars alongside the Bafta and Emmy award-winning actor and director in new film The Choral.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The movie tells the story of a choral society which lost its male members during World War One, and was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cd11g5y646eo\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">largely filmed in Saltaire, near Bradford<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Ollie, from Ripon, North Yorkshire, plays Lofty, who delivers telegrams in the fictional town of Ramsden, thought to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c9wvqj8rdjzo\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">partly based on Huddersfield<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;He&#8217;s very innocent,&#8221; he says of his character.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;He doesn&#8217;t understand the world he&#8217;s stepping into.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Appearing alongside Ollie, playing another chorister, is Anna Cook, 13, from York.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Her part includes singing a solo rendition of Land of Hope and Glory, to try and persuade a chorister not to go to war.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"When Ralph Fiennes walks into a room, you feel his presence before you see him.
