Though best known as a Rolling Stone \u2013 he\u2019s been a member of the British rock juggernaut since 1975, in fact \u2013 Ronnie Wood<\/a>\u2019s ventures extend well beyond music, and his passion for painting is well documented.<\/p>\n

And to celebrate the massive milestone of 50 years with The Rolling Stones<\/a>, the guitarist has revealed a series of new paintings depicting Mick Jagger<\/a>, Keith Richards<\/a> and late drummer Charlie Watts<\/a>, as well as a new self-portrait.<\/p>\n

Coinciding with the Stones\u2019 reissue of Black and Blue, the band\u2019s cult classic album which saw Ronnie Wood made a permanent member of the band \u2013 and which featured the likes of Miss You, Beast of Burden and Start It Up \u2013 the four portraits comprise the Paint It Black collection, with limited-edition prints available, each signed by Ronnie Wood with a message of the buyer\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n

Ronnie Wood\u2019s passion for painting goes back further than his success as a musician; he first started painting as a child after finding his older brother\u2019s paints and falling in love with it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard to believe it\u2019s been 50 years since I joined The Rolling Stones,\u201d says Ronnie Wood. \u201cIn these portraits I wanted to capture the spirit of Mick, Keith, me, our late friend Charlie Watts, and the live shows we\u2019ve been lucky enough to play together. Art has defined my life, and I\u2019ve been painting even longer than I\u2019ve been playing music.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI paint to music, and sometimes when I\u2019m playing, in my head I\u2019m doing it to a painting. Art fills my life, art is my life, and art will continue to be my life,\u201d he continues.<\/p>\n

Limited-edition prints of the Paint It Black collection are available now, while the Paint It Black Series can also be viewed in person at the RedHouse Originals Gallery at 15 Cheltenham Mount, Harrogate, HG1 1DW.<\/p>\n
