Rate: \u00a3350-\u00a3400 umbrella (Inside IR35) <\/p>\n
The Asset Protection Engineer will lead compliance with Network Rail’s engineering-driven safety requirements, ensuring robust technical advice, approvals, and risk mitigation across outside and third-party schemes. This role safeguards railway operations and infrastructure integrity while supporting safe, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible project delivery.
Essential Requirements
\u00b7Technical qualifications to HNC\/HND or equivalent GNVQ level.
\u00b7Experience managing outside\/third-party activities and mitigating associated risks.
\u00b7Relevant engineering experience, ideally across multi-disciplinary construction and design projects.
\u00b7Strong knowledge of technical, safety, and performance standards applied to asset protection.
\u00b7Clear understanding of CDM duties and Health & Safety legislation.
\u00b7Knowledge of safety management and safe by design principles.
\u00b7Experience in risk assessment, including auditing engineering competency. <\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities
\u00b7Ensure compliance with Network Rail engineering safety requirements, providing technical advice, conditions, and approvals.
\u00b7Manage mitigation of engineering and safety risks associated with outside and third-party activities.
\u00b7Provide technical input on design, specifications, construction, testing, commissioning, and site supervision.
\u00b7Review schemes for compliance with legislation, including CDM Regulations.
\u00b7Monitor and assess schemes against Network Rail standards, procedures, and route specifications.
\u00b7Manage engineering approvals and consents for project design and implementation.
\u00b7Carry out duties of Designated Project Engineer (DPE) for specific projects.
\u00b7Undertake technical reviews of clearance proposals, planning applications, and land use changes.
\u00b7Review external party applications for discharge of planning conditions and consents.
