“You’re a great scientist… and a great human being. The world is counting on you.” Amazon MGM Studios + Warner Bros have revealed the remarkable second trailer for Project Hail Mary, the epic sci-fi<\/a> space adventure movie from filmmakers Phil Lord & Chris Miller. It’s hitting theaters in March 2026<\/a> – just a few months from now. And the rumor in Hollywood is that it’s truly amazing. Adapted from Andy Weir’s acclaimed novel of the same name<\/a>, this is the story of an astronaut who tries to save Earth while alone in outer space. The movie stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, who wakes up on a spacecraft at Tau Ceti with no memory of himself or his mission. But he then figures out he was sent here to help save Earth and has to figure it out what to do entirely on his own. Co-starring Sandra H\u00fcller as Eva Stratt, Ryland’s superior, and Milana Vayntrub as Olesya Ilyukhina, his former Russian crewmate. This is an extraordinary trailer even though it does show too much of his interactions with Rocky. But I’ll allow it because I still think this might just be one of the best movies of 2026. Cannot wait to sit down and watch this in IMAX soon enough.<\/p>\n

Astronaut Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) awakens with no memory of himself or his mission. He deduces he is the sole survivor of a crew sent to the Tau Ceti<\/a> solar system in search of a solution to a catastrophic event on Earth. In his search for answers, Grace must rely on his vast array of scientific knowledge, sheer ingenuity, and human will \u2013 but he may not have to search alone. Project Hail Mary is directed by the two acclaimed producers \/ writers \/ filmmakers Phil Lord<\/a> & Christopher Miller<\/a> (known as Lord & Miller), director of the films Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street, The Lego Movie, and 22 Jump Street previously, plus “The Afterparty” series most recently. The screenplay is written by Drew Goddard (of Cloverfield, The Cabin in the Woods, World War Z, The Martian, Bad Times at the El Royale) with Andy Weird.
