The Tuscany-based robotic telescopes of the Virtual Telescope Project 2.0 released new images of the third interstellar visitor in the solar system.<\/p>\n

Along with the images, a stitched version of the snaps of 3I\/ATLAS was released as a GIF. The project faced bad weather, including rain and clouds for days in a row. However, within a window of 10 minutes of clear sky, their telescopes managed to get decent pictures of the comet that has baffled the world ever since its discovery on July 01, 2025.<\/p>\n

The project mentioned that the images were captured from the sigma-clipping combination of 7, 60-second unfiltered exposures, remotely taken with the Celestron C14+Paramount ME+SBIG ST-10XME<\/a> robotic unit available as part of the Virtual Telescope Project in Manciano, Italy.<\/p>\n

We had just the time to capture that handful of frames before clouds covered the whole sky. We had less than 10 minutes of clear sky to capture new images of comet C\/2025 K1 ATLAS, clearly detecting three fragments of the original nucleus and possibly a fourth one.” <\/p>\n

The Virtual Telescope Project had scheduled a live telecast of the fleeting comet for viewers across the world tomorrow. However, due to unforeseeable weather conditions, the event is postponed until the 25th of this month.<\/p>\n
