{"id":271534,"date":"2025-11-19T11:36:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T11:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/271534\/"},"modified":"2025-11-19T11:36:14","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T11:36:14","slug":"scott-dixon-acquitted-of-threatening-man-during-boxing-match","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/271534\/","title":{"rendered":"Scott Dixon acquitted of threatening man during boxing match"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Champion boxer Scott Dixon has been cleared of charges stemming from an altercation during a boxing match in February.<\/p>\n<p>Scottish national Dixon, Kurt Gatt and Sami Bouslama had been accused of insults and threats.<\/p>\n<p>But all three were acquitted on Tuesday after complaints against them were withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred at the Eden Arena and reportedly began when Dixon\u2019s girlfriend became involved in a dispute with another woman.<\/p>\n<p>Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech ordered Dixon not to approach an injured party, who withdrew his complaint.<\/p>\n<p>Dixon was recently charged in a separate case involving the alleged submission of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/timesofmalta.com\/article\/boxer-charged-fake-certificates-living-irregularly-malta-since-2008.1116483\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fake medical certificates<\/a> to justify breaches of his bail conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Defence lawyer Franco Debono represented Dixon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly identified one of the injured parties as an accused.
