Coronation Street<\/a>\u2019s Daniel Brocklebank<\/a> has confirmed he has filmed his final ever scenes at the ITV<\/a> soap, marking the end of his 11-year run on the cobbles. <\/p>\n

Sharing a photo from the set, Daniel wrote: \u2018That\u2019s it. Last scene filmed. Bye bye @coronationstreet. Bye bye Billy. The last 11 years have gone by in a blink. I\u2019ve adored every moment of being part of this special family. I can\u2019t thank @itv and all at Corrie enough. It\u2019s been a ride. I adore you all.\u2019<\/p>\n

The post marks a definitive end for the beloved character who has been a part of some of the show\u2019s most emotional scenes for more than a decade. <\/p>\n

Daniel has portrayed local vicar Billy Mayhew<\/a> since 2014. The character has been through an awful lot while living on the cobbles, but his chapter in Weatherfield is soon coming to come to an end<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Discussing his departure<\/a>, Daniel previously said: \u2018I have been working on Corrie for a quarter of my life. I have adored every minute I have been in that building and have never not look forward to going into work.<\/p>\n

He added: \u2018I love everyone who works on this show and whilst I am sad to be going, I am equally excited to see what the future holds.\u2019<\/p>\n

Producer of the show Kate Brooks<\/a> noted: \u2018Billy will be involved in a major storyline over the coming months, which will see him tested in ways he never imagined, as friendships and his faith are pushed to the limit.<\/p>\n

\u2018We\u2019re incredibly sad to bid farewell to Dan, who has been fantastic in some of Corrie\u2019s biggest storylines over the past few years, most notably Paul\u2019s MND<\/a>. An actor of immeasurable talent and skill, and an absolute treasure behind the scenes \u2013 he will be missed by all of us on the cobbles.\u2019<\/p>\n

With rumours circulating that Billy is going to be killed off, it appears we won\u2019t have too long to wait until we discover his fate, as Daniel has now filmed his final scenes.<\/p>\n

In a separate post, Daniel took to Instagram, sharing a tearful picture of himself and his co-star Harriet Bibby<\/a>, who plays Billy\u2019s adoptive daughter Summer Spellman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He wrote alongside: \u2018My final day today working with this beautiful human. I\u2019ve loved playing her tv dad. What an honour it has been. An incredible woman. I shall miss her terribly. Thank goodness I\u2019ll get to see her in real life for dinners, walks & cuddles.\u2019<\/p>\n

Plenty of Daniel\u2019s Corrie co-stars took to the comments section\u2019s of both posts to share kind messages to him as well. Gareth Pierce<\/a>, who plays Todd Grimshaw<\/a>, said: \u2018Love you both the most\u2019, while Bernie Winter star Jane Hazlegrove movingly wrote: \u2018Our Billy and little Summer! Thank you Dan for being THE kindest !! You know! What a ride eh darling! Thank you for everything!\u2019.<\/p>\n

Harriet Bibby penned: \u2018What an adventure we\u2019ve had! I love you loads.\u2019<\/p>\n

An ongoing theory regarding Billy\u2019s final story<\/a> in the ITV soap involves Theo Silverton<\/a> (James Cartwright<\/a>), Todd\u2019s abusive boyfriend.<\/p>\n

Theo has made it clear<\/a> time and time again that he doesn\u2019t like Billy and, more to the point, does not want him to be friends with Todd.<\/p>\n

Billy is staying away from Todd and Theo at the moment, but just how long will that last?<\/p>\n

Could Theo decide that \u2018keeping distance\u2019 isn\u2019t enough and seek a more permanent solution to his Billy problem? Will he murder Billy in a jealous state of rage? Or will he see to a less permanent end to his perceived rival?<\/p>\n

Whatever happens, it\u2019s painfully obvious that Billy is in major danger with Theo as an enemy.<\/p>\n
