{"id":272894,"date":"2025-11-20T04:30:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T04:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/272894\/"},"modified":"2025-11-20T04:30:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T04:30:12","slug":"zayn-malik-blackpink-collaboration-made-me-cool-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/272894\/","title":{"rendered":"Zayn Malik: Blackpink collaboration made me &#8216;cool again&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Alongside playing a few of his own songs during his radio special, Zayn shouted out some of his favourite artists including US rappers Lauryn Hill and Eminem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Bradford-born singer also revealed his father was a &#8220;massive&#8221; fan of Biggie Smalls and he would blast songs by the US rapper loudly so the whole street could hear. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Rap music was a big influence in my younger years and that was definitely made more prominent by the fact that I was living in Bradford, for sure,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The singer&#8217;s music career began in 2010 as part of One Direction, the boy band formed on TV talent contest, The X Factor. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He rose to stardom alongside the other band members &#8211; Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c981zyp9468o\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Liam died in October 2024 <\/a>after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Zayn left the group in 2015 to go solo and released his debut album, Mind of Mine, in 2016, which topped the charts. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The singer went on to release three more albums.
